All-new Australian-developed Ranger line-up
Ford has pulled back the sheets on the flagship in its all-new Australian-developed Ranger line-up in Geneva today, with the unveiling of the 2012 Ford Ranger Wildtrak.

Like its predecessor, the new Wildtrack gains a number of styling and interior enhancements over the regular Ranger models, including 18-inch wheels, a roof rack and a 'sports hoop' over the rear cargo area.

Inside, the Wildtrak gets bolstered seats trimmed in leather and fabric with ventilated mesh sections, along with distinctive orange stitching for contrast. There is also a 'hydrographic' finish for the centre console, while the radio housing gets a faux-carbon fibre look.
"Wildtrak's aggressive look and bold new graphics are a perfect fit for those who appreciate a sporty and more expressive image. It will look fantastic transporting the latest quad bike or jet ski for their weekend getaways," Craig Metros, Chief Designer of the all-new Ranger said.

Although Australian specifications have yet to be revealed, European buyers will be able to choose from the two diesel engines already revealed for the Ranger: a 2.2 litre four-cylinder diesel producing 110kW and 375Nm of torque, or a 3.2 litre five-cylinder diesel making 147kW and 470Nm of torque.

The 2012 Ranger Wildtrak features Bluetooth audio streaming, along with USB and iPod connectivity. Other features include voice control over the radio, CD, iPod, USB, air-conditioning and phone and the software recognises English, Spanish, French, German, Italian, Portuguese and Turkish. It also offers a five-inch colour screen with satellite navigation.
